Maybe Beautiful

Maybe beautiful is what you are,
But we didn't get a chance,
To go that far,
And all that's left,
Doesn't feel like theft,
Anymore.



Maybe we didn't try that hard,
And maybe we couldn't,
Let down our guard,
To get past our own fears,
Trusting in the power of tears,
Down our cheeks.



Maybe it was beautiful,
And maybe it was just delusional,
To think of us,
As more than what we are,
When we couldn't get past ourselves,
And all the dreams we put on shelves,
For later use.
